Friends For Keeps

Last Dec 26, 2014, i met up with my High School friends. We didn't see each other for like 3 years. My other friend just arrived from Dubai. If it weren't for my friend who just arrived, this will not be possible. My other two friends are just here in the Philippines but we're all busy with so many things but we talked about it already that we should give ourselves time to meet and hang out sometimes with the kids around. Of course we want our kids to be friends too :) We wento Eastwood and chilled at Publiko Eat + Drink. We all had a great time. It's like we didn't see each other for a long time. All the laughs, stories and memories, it's so refreshing. I'm so blessed to have friends like them. True friends are really hard to find indeed but i got so very lucky to have true friends, them!

Whatta Holiday

We spent our Noche Buena at my lola's house. We made her really happy! The food was great, too bad i had a terrible colds so i didn't taste any food and just ate a few just for the sake of it. The kids are all happy to receive so many gifts and cash.

We spent Christmas at home coz i wasn't really feeling well due to my colds. We left my daughter Mazie at my lola's house so she can spend Christmas with my sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins. But me, Vivo, Marvo and Vinno just stayed at home.

Nuby Feeding Bottles

My mom-in-law gave my son Nuby feeding bottles. He didn't like it. The teat's hard and not round. By the way, he's using Pigeon since he was born and he's still loving it. We didn't encounter any problems. My son is 3 years old and he's still using feeding bottles to drink milk. I don't wanna rush him and besides, he doesn't eat rice that much but he drinks a lotta milk. He drinks 100 oz a day or higher.. from Enfalac, Enfapro, Enfakid and now Bear Brand. Sometimes i give him Milo from his sipping cup. My other 2 kids drink Milo or Bear Brand, sometimes they mix it together.

Vinno is feeling better now, just some cough and colds but the fever is gone. I have colds and i hate it. Just please, please don't gimme a fever.. Christmas is 2 days from now. I don't wanna be sick on Christmas Day.

Sweetest Mom-In-Law Ever

We received a package last Dec 19 Fri from my mom-in-law. Just a small box with chocolates, some toys,wallet with cash for my daughter and some stuff. She sent the package Dec 11 Thu and we received it Dec 19.  It was fast, it only took 8 days from Switzerland to Philippines by air. She's coming home soon, maybe April or May and we're all excited!

Drypers vs MamyPoko

Vinno's using Drypers XXL and it's a perfect fit to him and most importantly it doesn't leak. Unlike MamyPoko, it leaks. Hubby didn't find a XXL Drypers in the grocery so he looked for an alternative diaper that is XXL so he bought MamyPoko Extra Dry XXL. It says extra dry so i said this must be really good. Well, it's not and I'm not satisfied at all! So when i woke up in the morning, Vinno was all wet! mamyPoko leaked, so now, i have to wake up in the middle of the night to check if he's wet. Whatta shame! I'm totally dismayed by this product. The price is not right for the quality. It's pricey talga! The Drypers is costly but the quality is good, it doesn't leak! So i'm never ever gonna buy MamyPoko again! Not in a millions years! 28 pcs pa naman yung binili. Hayy. Whatta waste.

Today, Vinno's not feeling well. He has a fever. Cough and colds. Maybe one of the reason he got sick is the diaper MamyPoko. His back got really wet. I dunno how long he was wet. And it's chilly pa naman this season. Good thing i didn't turn on the aircon well kasi nga it's cold naman. I already gave him bioflu. Hope he feels better soon. Christmas is near pa naman.

Kinder Joy Not Safe

Mazie's Class Christmas Party

Mazie's getting really forgetful. Just yesterday she forgot her lunch box and today she forgot her exchange gift. She put it in the brown eco-bag with some other stuff. They don't have school next week so how are we gonna get it? The lost and found is close for sure this Christmas vacation. Good thing there's no food in the bag or else it'll spoil.

By the way, here are some of the gifts she received today. Thank heavens she put these in her backpack.

Christmas Parties and Exchange Gifts

Today was a tiring day but fun! Vivo, Me, Marvo and Vinno attended Marvo's Christmas Party. Vinno had so much fun! It was his first time to attend a School Christmas Party. He would dance every time the music's on and i noticed that his pockets were full of candies. I always saw him removing the candies off his pockets and put it on the floor, of course i took it. Then the next thing, his pockets were full again. Haha. I think Vinno enamored some peeps at the party. Marvo joined the games and won just twice! hehe. There were also "Palawit" and "Hataw Palayok". Marvo won at the "Bring Me" game and when he hit the "Palayok". He also joined Trip To Jerusalem but dismally he lost. He received a lotta prizes like candies and chocolates. The candies and chocolates didn't last long, Marvo and Vinno ate it all up at the party. Here are some of the prizes he received and the gift.

Mazie's Art Club Christmas Party was today and tomorrow is her Class Christmas Party. Her food to share was, puto, macarons and chocolate cake. There was a take home. They didn't finish it all. She came home unexpectedly early today. I thought she was whole day. Oh well! Mazie received these gifts today.

Christmas Is For Sharing

Just 9 days to go and it's Christmas! Let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus Christ our savior was born. Be a blessing not just to yourself, to your family, but to others as well. We should consider ourselves lucky despite the many unfortunate events happening in different places, we are still intact and safe in our homes. Now is the best opportunity and chance for us to count our blessing and give to the poor and the afflicted whatever we can afford to share to make them happy this Christmas.

Every Christmas Party of Marvo's school (San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila School of Marikina City), they invite 24 families from adopted community in Marikina, designating one for each class, from SPED and Preschool up to Fourth Year. They will be the center of love and unity during the Christmas Party. By the way, have i mentioned that my eldest son Marvo is autistic? Yes, that's why he's in the SPED Division. The school assigned each student of what to share. Marvo was assigned to share noodles and sugar.

Marvo's Christmas party is on Dec 18, Thursday. The food assigned to him was puto or macarons. I guess we'll just bring both. His exchange gift is worth Php100. We can bring the whole family. I am thinking of bringing Vinno with me. I'm having second thought actually. I don't think if i can handle Marvo and Vinno at the same time while i am carrying so many things like the food, eating utensils, drinks and the gift. If only Mazie can come but Mazie have school so she can't come. Vivo can't come too so it's just me and Marvo. But who knows? Super mom ata to! I can handle such things! Piece of cake!

Nail Art Is Love

I started loving nail arts 2 years ago. I didn't know i have a talent of hand painting my nails. haha! Yes, yah heard it right, hand painted! I don't use stickers, as they say, stickers are for cheaters! Last night, i got so bored so i painted my toes. Here's the picture of the nail art i did.

This is very easy to make. Use dotting tools, if you don't have one, you can use the tip of the pencil to make the dots and to form the bow tie. If you want big dots, put a lotta polish on the tip of the pencil and less polish for smaller dots. Easy right? Go try it now! :)

I am currently listening to Buses And Trains by Sixpence None The Richer. I love this song. Listening to this song brings me back the 90's.

By the way, that's Mazie in Santa Claus costume. Others thought it's Marvo. They're look alike in this picture. It was taken a year ago. That costume still fits her but just a lil shorter now for Mazie, coz Mazie became really tall. Her feet's getting bigger too. Last year she was size 6, and now she's 7. How time flies?!

Ruby Please Stop Striking Countries

It's a long weekend indeed. Some students are happy coz there's no school and some are don't and my daughter is one of 'em. She knows the aftermath every time we have typhoon. She even asked me why there's no school coz it's not raining hard in our area. A bit windy though. I know in some provinces, they're not doing okay coz of Ruby especially in Visayas. I wish they're all okay and that Ruby didn't leave a catastrophe. Lets keep praying not just for our country but for other countries as well. By the way, long weekend is over. There's school tomorrow.

It's cold and i'm liking it. Hope our weather will stay like this forever even if the sun is up. Oh well, i know it's not gonna happen. But, who knows?! hehe

We had chicken sopas for lunch, our all time favorite. So perfect for this cold climate. Vinno ate a lot, as in a lot. It's one of his favotites too. They want chicken sopas for Dinner again. That's how they love my chicken sopas! haha.

My Body Is My Alarm Clock

Good morning! So it's Sunday but i woke up early and Vinno, geez!. No alarm clock needed, i woke up on my own. I slept at 9 pm so i had like 6 hours sleep. I am currently listening to La Da Dee of Cody Simpson. It's the song of the movie Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2. I watched it last night in HBO, that's how i knew the song. I liked the song, It's an upbeat song so i downloaded it right away. Vinno and i ate fried rice and sausage for breakfast. I had black coffee. I usually don't drink black coffee but since we ran out of creamer, i had to. I need coffee! Can't live a day without drinking it.

Christmas is fast approaching and so is the typhoon Ruby. We don't feel it yet here in Manila but it already landed in some provinces. So be safe guys! Lets pray for our safety especially those who live at the affected provinces and provinces that will be affected by this typhoon.

Shambles. Pristine.

Okay. So i left Mazie and Vinno in the bedroom. After an hour or so when i went back, i was like.. What the hell happened here?! The mattress was off the bed, the toys were all scattered on the floor and Vinno peed on the floor. When will i ever see our bedroom so pristine? The room was a shambles. I didn't expect to see the bedroom so messed up knowing that Mazie was there with Vinno. Well she should have stopped Vinno from scattering the toys and from peeing on the floor. But no! She was too busy playing the Ipad. She's Vinno's ate so she should act like one. But anyways, it already happened. Of course, i was the one who cleaned all the mess, well Mazie helped me by picking up the toys but the rest, me! I had to scrub the floor so it won't leave any bacteria.

Mama Chit's Burger

Okay, so i was really digging this burger at Mama Chit's. I finally got my hands on it! Well for Php 85 it's worth it. The burger's grilled and not fried. The burger is juicy and the bread is a lil crunchy and the vegetables are fresh. The canned soda came from the US and it's a bit pricey. The price for me is just not right. For a soda? Seriously? Come on! In the US it's just cheap. It costs Php 100, it's more expensive than the the burger! Imagine that?! Oh well!

By the way, Mama Chit's was featured at Kris Tv. I heard that their price increased after they've been featured at Kris Tv. Who would have thought? But anyways, i will still buy Mama Chit's burger coz as i've said it's really worth it! You should try it.

Vinno's A Grown-Up

Vinno's growing up way too fast. We were watching downstairs when suddenly he went upstairs. I got curious so after 10 mins or so, i checked up on him. When i went inside the room, i saw him sleeping on the bed. I didn't know that he was that sleepy. He didn't even say: mommy am sleepy. He usually says that and even asks for milk before going to sleep. And he would also grab my hand so i can scratch his head or back whenever i'm beside him. Well sometimes he still does it. And i'm so liking it :) Well, sad to say but he can't stay as a baby forever :( By the way, i still made him milk even though he fell asleep. He can drink milk while sleeping. Yes, ya heard me right! So i put it in his mouth and he started sipping it and he finished a 10 oz milk. Bottoms up!

While he was sleeping, i was staring at him and my gosh! He's so adorable. Having him is such a blessing! I must have done something really good at the past to bless me with such a wonderful kid. He's an angel! He's our angel! We love him so much! We love our kids equally!

Vegetable Lover

When i was a kid, i don't eat vegetables. But as i was growing up, i got curious and wanna know if it tastes good or not. I first tried eating my lola's famous lumpia, and i liked it! It wasn't bad at all. So from then on, i learned to love vegetables! I even look for vegetables if i don't see it on the table. Now, i love vegetables!

My forever fave Tacos! 

It's very easy to make.

Ingredients: 1/2 kilo ground pork or beef, taco mix (i love the spice it gives), cabbage, tomatoes (i prefer green), cheese, vinaigrette.

Procedures: Put the ground pork or beef in the pan wait til it's cooked. Then put the taco mix in a 1/4 cup of water, then put it along with the ground pork or beef. Let it absorb the liquefied taco mix and it's done. Cut the cabbage into thin strips and the tomatoes. Mix it to the cooked ground pork or beef then put some grated cheese and the vinaigrette and it's now ready to eat. I use mr chips or taco shells.

Boiled baby potatoes with mayo garlic dip. 

How to make the garlic dip is easy. You just need a mayonnaise and garlic. The first time i did the garlic dip, i didn't like it. I cut the garlic too small so when i mixed it with the mayonnaise, gosh! I can't see the garlic! I just want the mayonnaise to absorb the taste of the garlic. So when i made it the second time, i cut the garlic into big strips. Then i mixed it up with the mayonnaise and after an hour, i removed the sliced garlic in the mayonnaise.So may garlic dip is garlic free. haha!

Onion Rings! 

By the way, just so you know, i don't eat raw onions. I just don't. I don't like the after taste and the smell! But i eat onions when it's cooked. I used a breading to make this one. Just dip it into the breading then fry! I forgot to dip it in the egg so it didn't absorb the breading that much.

Marvo's Letters For Keeps

Look how sweet our son is. He wrote that letter for us this year's Valentine's day. He's just so sweet! We are so lucky to have him. He's not just sweet but he's smart too. By the way, my eldest son has mild autism. We're not ashamed of it. He's very special in his own way and he's God's gift to us. We're actually proud of him coz he's been doing great lately, he draws so well and he can do some household chores now. He's not that "pasaway" anymore. So, cheers to that! :)

Refrigerator Cake

Now, who doesn't love Grahams?! It's called "the refrigerator cake". Since you don't have to bake it and you will just simply put it in the ref, i guess that's why it's called the refrigerator cake :D

It's easy to make. Just put graham crackers in the container. i always use the rectangular one so the grahams will fit perfectly and won't leave any gap. Then the mango cream or mocha cream. I made two different flavors, Mango and Mocha! You have to put cream in every layer. I go for 5 layers and put a lot more cream!

Ingredients on how to make Mango Cream:

2 Nestle Cream

1 Condensed Milk

3 Riped Mango Fruits (make sure it's sweet)

Procedures:

Put the nestle cream and the condensed milk. Slice the mangoes, then set aside at least half of the sliced mangoes. Then what you'll do to the bone is you squeeze it until it produces juice and grate the sliced mangoes into the cream. Now do the layers! For every layer, put some sliced mangoes.

Ingredients on how to make Mocha Cream:

2 Nestle Cream

1 Condensed Milk

1 tbsp Coffee

4 tbsps Milo

Procedures:

Just put the nestle cream, condensed milk, coffee and milo altogether then mix it! Do the layers! You can also put some chocolate bits for every layer.

So easy!

Nail Art

Oh how i love painting my nails! :D These are the different Nail Arts i did.

First time i tried doing nail art. I don't have tools yet so i improvised. As my dotting tool, i used the tip of the toothpick. For doing the stripes i used striper and since i don't have the real striper, i took an old brush from my old nail polish and cut it off to make the strands slimmer and as for the diamond shape, i used sticky tape. Make sure that the polish is already super dry so it won't tear off once you remove the sticky tape out of your nails or else the polish will stick to the sticky tape. Tip: for best result, dry the polish for a day before sticking some sticky tape :)

 Of all the nail arts i did, i hate this the most. I was careless. I didn't dry the first coating just after 3 mins or so. I started sticking the tape to form the stripes so this is how it turned out. Messy!

 Dots! This is so easy. Just paint your nail, then let it dry for like 10 mins. Then start doing the dots. You can also use the tip of the pencil to make the dots. :)

Tiger print. This is easy too. I used striper to do the prints.

If you're going to use a sticky tape, i suggest to make it dry for a day.

Oh ombre! My all time fave! This is quite complicated. I used a make up sponge to do this. Instead of putting the polish on your nails, you're gonna put the 2 different colors of polish onto the sponge then after putting the polish onto the sponge, dab it on your nails. Make sure to do it asap coz the polish dries quickly.

 Ombre with heart. The heart is so easy to make. I used a dotting tool to shape the heart.

 Ombre with ribbon. I had a hard time doing the ribbon. I shaped the ribbon into the sticky tape then snip it and stick the ribbon shaped tape onto my nails. Then put some polish. Make sure to make the border a little thick so when you put the polish, it won't touch your nails.

 Very easy. I used the stamp to do this. You can buy it online.

Loom Band Madness

So, who did not go gaga over the Loom Band furor? :D Even me loved the idea! Hubby bought me 3 boxes of it. These were the ones i did which is really, really hard to make. I loved the flower and ribbon thingy though i had some dilemma doing it, but oh well! It looks good, right?

Graham Balls

I made these graham balls before and it was easy. It's like doughnuts but no need to bake.

Ingredients:

graham crackers i almost finished the whole box of grahams (crushed)

peanut butter 1/2 bottle (Ludy's a local brand in the PH)

condensed milk 1 can

peanuts (crushed)

chocolates

Procedures:

I crushed the grahams first (i bought the wrong one i know, coz there's actually crushed grahams you can buy in groceries). After i was done crushing, i put the peanut butter then the condensed milk. I Mixed it til it's moist. Then form a circle, small or big it depends on you. Melt the chocolate. Dip the graham balls into the melted chocolate then dip into the peanuts.

Marvo and Mazie loved it! Mazie even brought some to the school so she can share it with her classmates. Sad to say Vinno didn't like it. Maybe because he really doesn't like the taste of peanut butter. So next time, i'll use chocolates for the flavor.

i watched AMAs just a while ago and i must say Kate Beckinsale really caught my attention. She was so gorgeous and stunning, I love her white dress, it fits perfectly on her! Knowing that she already have a 16 year old kid, wow! Just wow! Just like what Guiliana Rancic said, "she's not normal".

Vivo and Mazie's Favorite

My back really hurts. I think i'm gonna skip my 30 mins exercise for today. Sign of old age haha. I slept at around 8 pm last night then woke up at 3 am. Marvo and Mazie are already in school. Vinno is already awake, he's inside the room watching an educational film using the Ipad Mini.

Now i'm gonna share with you on how to cook Pork Steak. I always cook this dish coz my husband and my daughter really loves it.

Ingredients:

pork 1 kilo

soy sauce

calamansi

1-2 pcs of white onions big (cut into circles)

Very few i know. This is how i cook it, very simple but tastes good :) By the way, i'm not a good cook. I just learned how to cook when Marvo was like 3 yrs old.

Procedures:

Mix the soy sauce and calamansi. 1/2 cup of soy sauce and 8-10 pcs of calamansi. It depends on how big your calamansi. What i do is i marinate the pork overnight so the pork will absorb the soy sauce and calamansi. Then i will fry the pork, set aside. Then sautee the white onions, put the fried pork, then put the remaining sauce, the one you used to marinate the pork. That's it! Easy right?!

I prefer a lotta white onions coz it just goes well with this dish and simply because we love white onions!

From Broken Jeans To A Denim Bag

I had a nice sleep. I actually slept early at around 8:00 pm and woke up really, really early at 1:00 am hahaha. I accomplished a lot today. I ready the kids for school as i always do during weekdays. I cleaned the living room, Mazie's room, our room and bathroom, folded the clothes, cooked breakfast and lunch and i took Vinno to an early bath since he woke up early.

By the way, here are the finished product of the denim bags i did from broken jeans. It's easy, it's not as difficult as it may seem.

Now jeans are all piled up. I need to finish those within a week. We're planning to sell it. By the way, those jeans are not broken, seriously. We just don't feel like wearing it anymore that's why we decided to make money from those jeans. Why not?

Husband To The Rescue

Since i slept at 7 am ish, i can't get up. Mazie who woke up so early at around 8 am asked me to cook breakfast for her. My brain wanted me to stand up and cook something for her but my body wanted to stay on the bed. Good thing my husband was still at home that he didn't go out early for his meeting, so he cooked food for the kids. Thanks to my husband! He's my hero! I thought he's gonna get mad at me but thanks heavens he did not!

I really, really need to sleep on time so this incident will never happen again. It's my job to cook food and take care of them. Now i feel bad for myself. 

Balloon Sculpting

I never thought that balloon sculpting would be so much fun! All the blowing and twisting. haha. Make sure not to twist it too strong coz the balloon will pop, happened to me lotta times. I made a dog, sword, dinosaur and this one flower. Sorry i don't have pictures of some i mentioned earlier, i just have one picture, the flower. I learned it from YouTube. It's easy! Try it yourself! Not only you will enjoy it but your kids as well. They'll be very excited to see the finished product and will be asking for more!! Have fun! :D

DIY Paper Toys

This happened months ago. I just wanna share it with you guys on how to make paper toys.

Since my kids wanted to have Adventure Time Toys, i searched google on how to make paper toys. It's just a waste of money if i'm gonna buy them toys that will be played with for just a short period of time. So i saw this website, there's a downloadable files for paper toys. It's so easy and fun! We enjoyed doing it! Just some snipping, folding and sticking and voila! You already have a toy!

Tip: Just don't get it wet coz it's gonna break. :D

Sleep Where Are You?

It's 5:44 in the morning and i'm still awake! I just can't sleep! Everybody's sleeping except me! I've been tryina sleep for like 2 hours but i really can't so i decided to start a blog. My blog is about "Family" I've been thinking for a title and a domain and decided to use our last name as the domain and the title.. well it should be family related so there.

I used to do websites before, i actually did a lotta layouts. I started at Geocities and Blogger. By the way, Geocities is no longer up, they changed it to Reocities. It's nice to know that Blogger is still up, and it's almost the same as before. it's just that, it's much easier now to do the layout thing. Before i use notepad, yeah i know HTML stuff. you also need FTP to transfer your files. That's what i use to make a website, but now, it's all there, just drag and drop and you're done.

So why did i go back to blogging? Simply because i love to share my thoughts to everyone and i missed doing some layouts and wanna try if i still know some HTML codes and wow! i still got it! :D I know sometimes i post nonsense things, coz i post even the simplest things that's happening. Well that's me haha.

I love to read blogs a lot. I learned a lot from them. Especially on how to cook. Coz, seriously, i am not a good cook but i'm tryin my best. So back to my blog, it's all about "Family". My websites before were all about me. Things are different now. Because you're gonna read posts about my husband, kids, some stuff that we're doing, and some stuff that i do (correction it's not about me, it's about the stuff that i do haha), even the weirdest things, all of it. So have fun reading! :)
